Chagres
Challenge in Helicopter - August 3, 2008
|
Well, this trip version is what I called cheating on "The Challenge".
But with style !
Two executives of an engineer firm with its eye on the Panama Canal
current projects, decided to give a surprise present to her co-worker.
They arrive to the helicopter hangar at Albrook Airport, and she was alreary
surprised for an unexpected ride. It was a great aerial view of nearby
Panama City and Canal. Them, it was excited to fly over the jungles of
Chagres National Park almost touching tree canopies over the hills crests.
But her biggest surprise was to land in the middle of no where and finding a
raft with guides ready to take them across all that vast jungle that they just
over
flew.
It is amazing that in only an aproximate 18 minute chopper ride you can reach
such a remote place that requires a full day hike to get out, if you know your
way out. Or a pleasant float toward Madden Lake. |

1. Adventures Panama exhibits in USA
For the second consecutive year we will be participating in
the biggest USA Outffitter Association Marketing and Management Conference:
American Outdoors Confluence. In our booth we will
have a window to what Panama has to offer.
Last year, the generalized
perception among participants were that Panama will become the next adventure
destination of choice.
2. Adventures Panama raise its standards
even higher
Not only with top of the line new gear but also by training
guides in
Wilderness
First Responder. Congratulation Nelson and Luis for
passing all courses and become the first Adventures Panama certified guides on
this specialized course.
3. Wellcome Meike !
For couple of months now we had been honored to be choosen
by Meike Steinert from Hamburg, Germany as the company she selected to full
fill her academic requirement working abroad.
Meike it is not the first german student we had had at our
office and we are so optimistic about this almost untouched market that
Adventures Panama now has a phone number in Hamburg.
We took Meike along with the Adrift Adventure group and
here is her testimonial:
Thank you very much for letting me go
on the trip! I really enjoyed the trip!
It was great to see the other faces
of Panama, as well as getting more experience on the water. The camping, the
water and the whole nature is just amazing!
Also the group I went with was very crazy, but then also so much fun! They had
a blast too!
The group as also I were impressed by
how nice everybody who "served" us was all the time! And the guides from
Aventuras Panama are really good guides too.
Thank you so much again!
Meike

Dustin and Kissle confronted a dilema when
they went back to their ducky after scouting this rapid at the Chagres
River. The group had left them with only one paddle on it ! It
didn´t take them a second to figure out it was a break away paddle... a
piece for each.
And they both had a great swim when confronted a
rapid they didn´t have enogh to paddle with.
