Boquete Tree Trek, August 1, 2010 (video and
pictures taken by Boquete Tree Trek)
No Guts, No Glory !
There is a Cloud
Forest Mountain open to the general public in Boquete Panama.
Its operation resembles an ski mountain
resort but instead of slopes you will find cables that will take you down in
a thrilling adventure in which you do not need any skills to do it just the
courage to let go.
With 12 stations and spectacular
sceneries, this is one of the world´s best rides. The largest span is 400-meters
long which you will travel in 20 seconds.
The first
ride is the test of faith. Follow the instructions. Use your
hand to keep your body straight by holding the cable behind you to keep from
spinning during the ride. Every station that requires it has a breaking
system in which it does not matter what you do, you will be stopped, and you
will have a blast !
The last
group of 20 participants included childrens, (6-8 years olds) as well as
people in their sixties. It did remind me of the ski phrase "if
it looks too vertical to you, you are getting old" because those kids were
totally fearless. I have to admit that I was terrified on the first
ride while approaching the first station with tree-smashing speed and with
out being aware of how effective were those brake systems were going to be.
But they worked fine, and once I trusted them I was more relaxed.
This is one
of those "must do" trips while in Panama. Read more and book online

Panama is for adventure travelers and
for family travel. Panama is more than the Panama Canal although the
Panama Canal is a big tourist attraction. Panama in Central America has
untouched rainforests. Panama is ideal for eco-tourism and for travelers
interested in ecology and natural beauty. The wild monkeys and the
thousands of birds make Panama a birders or bird watchers paradise.
Birders love Panama because of its rich diversity and ecosystem. Panama
City has colonial houses and terrific food. The Old City, Casco Viejo, is
perfect for tourists. Its safe, walking streets and terrific restaurants
make it ideal.
Panama has colorful festivals, tours of
lakes and rainforest, tours of the Panama Canal. There are festivals in
Panama with colorful costumes.
Visit the Canal Museum and experience the biodiversity. This Central
American country has more species of birds than anywhere in North America.
Panama is one of the only Central
American countries that has preserved its indigenous people like the
Embera Indian tribe camp site. Travel Video PostCard shows this.
