San Blas Kayaking Trip was the highlight of
our vacation!

While I consider myself an
adventurous person, I'm not really the camping type. So, the idea of camping
and kayaking in the San Blas islands for 4 days both intrigued and unsettled
me.
I could not be happier that my
husband swung the vote in favor of signing up for the trip. From start to
finish, Aventuras had everything taken care of. We arrived to a picture
perfect sandy island to find our campsite all ready to go complete with a
fully stocked camp kitchen. We spent the next 4 days kayaking, swimming,
snorkeling, relaxing, and eating like kings fresh fish, veggies, fruit,
eggs. Our guides, Matt and Demas, were fantastic.
They were knowledgeable, fun,
and interesting but never pushy or overbearing. We also had the pleasure of
getting to know the Kuna family who owned and cared for the island. San Blas
is a truly special destination. Governed by the Kuna, it remains a largely
untouched oasis of gorgeous sandy, palm tree riddled islands. Exploring the
islands by kayak with Aventuras was the perfect way to see San Blas
We were a group of 10 people and
3 experienced guides!
The rafting started somewher in
the middle of nowhwere, at the end of a dirt road. It lead through an
amazing landscape, some nice and exciting rapids and even though it was the
dry season, and the water a bit low, we had lots of fun and I totally
enjoyed my day!
We had some really good
sandwiches and cookies (with peanutbutter) for lunch and stopped at some
places where we could climb up some rocks and jump into the water!
I totally recommend that trip
and would love to come again to do it in the rainy season !
We did horseback riding in
Caldera on a 2-3 hours trail that took us in a loop with great mountain
views. On reaching the highest section the sky fall on us with a
heavy thunder rain. The adventure spiced up crossing flooded creeks in our
way back.
We returned to
Casa Romero were my kids
cooked a delicious gourmet dinner for the group, and rested for our next scheduled
event.. hiking Volcan Baru.
To start hiking at sunrise we woke up
at 4:00am, making summit at 12:00pm and them back to origing at 8:00pm.
We did not planned to hike at night but one of the kids did not felt well
due to abrupt change of altitude and delayed our descend. We maded
back tired to dead but full of glory.
